The aim of the module is to provide first year undergraduate students with a good general understanding of the range of professional activity of a chartered surveyor in both rural and urban contexts. A knowledge of surveying disciplines and where the role of a surveyor sits in the wider industry is essential for Rural Land Management and Real Estate students. The module achieves this by imitating the requirements of the professional institutions that surveyors should understand and embrace Continuing Professional Development (CPD) so as to create well informed and reflective practitioners who have a wider appreciation of surveying and its role in the built environment professions.
