This module aims to develop students’ understanding of challenges small business face once they are up and running. The module is drawing on academic research on intra/-entrepreneurship and small business development, to support the development of academic skills and knowledge required to plan to develop an existing small business. Identifying management challenges and issues and how to solve them is the practical application to live business problems.

The module includes explicitly developing team working knowledge and skills gained in group work. Students will work on case study businesses and their problems / challenges and use academic theory to suggest and plan solutions. Teaching methods include a range of practical activities, including presentations, designed to encourage creativity and teamwork to solve practical business problems as well as case study analysis.
