Answer:
For some students, attending University may be the first time that you have managed your own money. Should you find yourself in need of support or advice, please contact studentfees@rau.ac.uk.

If unforeseen circumstances are causing you to struggle financially during the academic year, you can apply for the Access to Learning Fund - please find the form below. Once you have completed it, you will need to send the form and evidence to financial.support@rau.ac.uk.

If your Issue is:
How can I get in shape?

Answer:

Our Gym is on site situated behind the Retreat Cafe. 

To arrange an induction session, contact:  steve.martin@rau.ac.uk. 

Gym membership is priced at:

Term 1 (Sept, Oct, Nov & Dec):   £50

Term 2 (Jan, Feb & Mar):               £40

Term 3 (Apr & May):                      £30

One-off annual payment:             £99

Membership can be purchased via the online shop. Once you have paid for your membership, access rights will be put onto your ID card. Please note that this will take up to 48 hrs to process but you will be notified as soon as it has been processed.

The Student Union also runs various sports clubs . The SU is situated in the Log Cabin by Cedar Lodge.

If your Issue is:
I just don't feel I belong.

Answer:
Visit Student Support Services Hub where you will be able to talk to someone or talk to your Academic Support Tutor. They will also be able to put you in touch with the Community Assistants who run events and provide advice for student life. In addition, you could attend the Time to Talk session in Tithe on Mondays 10-11am.

I can't shake this virus!

If you need medical advice, please contact the Chesterton branch of the Phoenix Health Group on 01285 652056 to make an appointment.

Visit Student Support Services Hub where staff will be able to provide advice and resources to help you. Getting help early is important.

I think someone has hacked my PC.

Answer:
Contact the IT Service Desk as soon as possible and ask for help.  If you have any IT issues please contact the IT Service Desk in person in the Library Foyer, by phone on 01285 889 841 or by email atIT.Service.Desk@rau.ac.uk (open Monday to Friday from 8:30am - 5:30pm).

If your Issue is:
They won't leave me alone!

Answer:
Harassment of any nature is not acceptable at RAU. Your Academic Support Tutor is available to talk to you or you can visit Student Support Services for help. It's important to let someone know what is happening.

If your Issue is: 

Answer: 

Our local GP surgery, Phoenix Health Group, operates a health centre in Chesterton (roughly twenty minutes from campus on-foot).  Students registered as patients with Phoenix Health Group will be allocated a named GP and will have access to the health centre's services. The health centre can support students with a range of needs, for example: contraception, sexual health, long term conditions, mental health support, wound care, immunisations and minor illness. 

The clinic can also provide medical evidence for extenuating circumstances.

If you are not registered locally you will need to be seen as a visiting patient, but any long term medical care will have to come from the practice you are registered with.
